PVD, or Physical Vapor Deposition, is a technique used to apply a tough protective layer onto stainless steel. The process happens inside a vacuum chamber, where material is vaporised and then bonded to the surface of the steel, forming a thin, tightly adhered coating that boosts its look, colour and resistance to scratches and corrosion.
Because everything takes place in a controlled vacuum environment, PVD coating is considered a clean, eco-friendly process that avoids the use of harsh chemicals.
Jewellery finished with PVD-coated stainless steel is also hypoallergenic, making it a comfortable choice for those with sensitive skin or ears.
